Fernando Meza
Mr. Fernando Meza, Esq., is Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance & Operation, Facilities and Transportation for Pomona Unified School District (PUSD).
Mr. Meza previously served as Assistant Superintendent of Pupil and Community Services, Administrative Director of Pupil and Community Services, Director of Constituent Services and Safe Schools/Healthy Students and Program Administrator for Community and Employee Relations. He has over 16 years of service to the community and students of the Pomona Unified School District.
Prior to joining the PUSD team, Mr. Meza had an accomplished career as an Attorney and Mediator. He was Executive Director of Inland Valleys Justice Center where he worked with residents to access legal services and the justice system. He served as a Staff Attorney for Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles, as a Senior Conflict Resolution Associate at Loyola Law School Center for Conflict Resolution and as Site Director/Legal Coordinator for One Stop Immigration and Education Center. His entire legal career has been dedicated to helping others and achieving equitable outcomes.
Mr. Meza is the proud father of four children and the husband of a hard working nurse. He is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration/International Relations and earned his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School. He is a member of the California Bar Association and the American Bar Association.

Mission The Facilities Department supports the mission of the Pomona Unified School District by providing adequate student housing and equitable utilization of facilities to support the achievement of our students.
Services & Organizations The Capital Facilities Department is responsible for the strategic planning and construction of major capital facilities construction projects. More specifically, the department's responsibilities include but are not limited to: Providing for multi-year enrollment projects, establishing and monitoring of school facility capacities and providing adequate facilities to meet the needs of student growth and planned program expansion.
- In conjunction with the Maintenance & Operations department, identify and mitigate emergency/safety issues.
- Addressing campus deficiencies utilizing a strategic planning approach.
- Reviewing options that will enhance the learning/teaching environment as it relates to visual impacts, HVAC, classroom lighting, and space utilization.
- Assuring that equitable improvements are made to all campuses.
