Office of the Superintendent
Welcome to the 2019-20 school year!
A school’s most important partners are our parents. Even though we have our students in class, they are only with us for 6 hours each day. The rest of the time they look to you. You help your children with their homework and ensure they come to class every day ready to learn.
Attendance is a crucial part of learning. You can help by making sure that your children are in school on a regular basis. Through regular attendance, your children are consistently learning new concepts and ideas. Attendance is the foundation for building responsible behavior. Students who attend regularly have better grades, fewer discipline issues, and are much more likely to attend college. It is critical that your children come to class so that they can learn to work with one another, gaining the knowledge and building the leadership and teamwork that will make them successful in the years ahead.
We want our parents to be involved and engaged. As volunteers in our schools, as PTA/PTO members, or as interested voices helping us on our parent committees, you are an essential part of every school’s success. We thank you for all that you give our schools, not only in donating your time and money, but in the thoughts you share to help us better meet the needs and interests of our students.
Together we can make 2019-20 a year where every one of our children feels secure, knowing that they are valued for themselves. Let us help each student discover their strengths and interests. Just as much as they learn literacy and math, help them learn to value others. Let us work together to give every child in our community the support they need to reach their dreams. If we can do this, we will have taught our children well.
