Emerson Middle School welcomed California State Senator Susan Rubio for a special visit held in the school quad. Senator Rubio greeted students and shared an inspiring message about the power of education, reminding young people that their education can be their greatest superpower.
Emerson staff, along with members of Brothers Forum, Prototypes, PUSD Community Schools and Healed Women Heal team, all helped make the event memorable. Students performed a lively dance, and vendors were on hand offering goodies and food for everyone to enjoy. During her remarks, Senator Rubio spoke candidly about the challenges she faced growing up and shared how education became her superpower, helping her overcome obstacles and achieve her goals.
