The 3rd Annual Pomona Unified Esports High School Tournament has concluded and the impact will resonate far beyond the final scores. Congratulations to Pomona High School for claiming the Championship, sweeping Garey High School in a match that showcased strategy and teamwork. The coveted district trophy is theirs, earned through skill, dedication, and heart. This is their moment and it's well-deserved.
Also, big congratulations to Park West High School for delivering a commanding sweep over Diamond Ranch High School in the Rocket League Championship, and Fremont Academy for defeating Marshall Middle School in the inaugural Super Smash Bros. Middle School Championship. These victories represent more than wins, it shows students discovering their potential.
Whether you were among the loud crowd at the successful STEAM Showcase last Thursday or part of the incredible 530+ viewers watching the stream on YouTube, you witnessed something meaningful. You saw students stepping into leadership roles, collaborating under pressure, and proving that when given the opportunity, they rise to meet it.
This tournament exist because of your extraordinary support. Our deepest gratitude to the Board of Education, Pomona Unified leaders, Ed Tech, IT, school staff, STEAM Leads, partners, and all the participating students. Your belief in this program continues to open doors for students, showing them that their passions have purpose and their skills have value.
Please tell your competing students that they are part of something more powerful than just esports. They learned that collaboration wins championships and their gaming skills can take them into exciting STEAM careers. This is just the beginning of what they are capable of achieving.
As we look toward next year, we collectively carry forward the same mission: to inspire students to dream bigger, push boundaries, and shape the future they want to see.
Until next year, stay on the Path Forward.
