2025 Congressional App Challenge Now Open

Dear Neighbor,

I am pleased to announce that the applications for the 2025 Congressional App Challenge are now open!

The Congressional App Challenge is designed to encourage middle school and high schools students to learn to code and inspire youth to pursue careers in computer science. With incredible colleges and institutions like Cal Poly Pomona in the Inland Empire, participating in this challenge is a great launching pad for young students interested in the STEM fields!

Every year we challenge students in our district to create and submit their original apps for a chance to win the Congressional App Challenge (CAC). Winners are awarded an invitation to the House of Code Capitol Hill Reception in Washington D.C, waived copyright registration applications fees and each winning app may be put on display in the U.S Capitol building for one year.

To be eligible to participate in the Congressional App Challenge, you must be a middle or high school student at the time of app submission. Students may register as individuals or as teams of up to four, students may compete in the district they reside in or the district they attend school in and all competing students must be U.S residents at the times of submission (there are no citizen requirements for students).

The Congressional App Challenge would love to see all students learn to code, regardless of previous experience. We highly encourage students to participate even if they have never coded before!

Applications officially close on October 24th 2024, and Winners will be notified and announced in December.

I am proud to support the next generation of talented computer Scientists from the Inland Empire and our beautiful district. For more information on the Congressional App Challenge please refer to their home website HERE! To apply for the competition please refer to the Registration website
