Dear Parents and Guardians,

This emergency alert is to inform you of an incident that occurred near Pomona High School’s campus today at approximately 3:15 p.m. We want to make sure you have accurate information and dispel any rumors you may have heard about the incident.

Shortly after dismissal, an individual began shooting in the area near Bangor Street. At this point, police have not determined if this was a targeted act. Unfortunately, several cars were hit and one individual sustained injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening at this moment. We take this incident seriously, and I ask your help in addressing the important issue of student safety.

We will provide additional information as we receive it from the local authorities.

Esta alerta de emergencia es para informarle de un incidente que ocurrió cerca del plantel escolar de la escuela preparatoria de Pomona High hoy aproximadamente a las 3:15 p.m. Queremos asegurarnos de que tenga información precisa y disipar cualquier rumor que haya escuchado sobre el incidente.

Poco después de la salida, un individuo comenzó a disparar en el área cercana a Bangor Street. En este momento, la policía no ha determinado si se trató de un acto selectivo. Desafortunadamente, varios carros fueron alcanzados por las balas y una persona sufrió heridas que no se cree que su vida esté en peligro en este momento.
