Hi STEAMLeads,

I wanted tolet you know that our next Speaker Series is scheduled for Monday, 12/4, at3:45 pm. The format will be a Q and A with me for the first 35 minutes,then we will open it up to questions from you and the students. Hopefully, thestudents will be engaged. Encourage them to ask questions. Remind the students that theyget an extra raffle ticket for attending. If you are having the studentswatch it from your classroom, please track who was there and let us know.

Bio for theSpeaker

Jeff Dexter, Senior Director of Software and Cybersecurity at Astranis Space, which aims to provide low-cost, broadband internet to the world. At Astranis, Jeff oversees software for flight and ground systems, production and network operations, in addition to Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Mission Operations, and Cybersecurity. Jeff was previously Senior Director of Flight Software and Cybersecurity at SpaceX where he focused on the early development of Falcon 9, its certification with the Air Force and NASA, and the development of software supporting the first ever successful landing of an orbital booster. Jeff then oversaw the development of the Crew Dragon displays, working closely with NASA astronauts to develop the first ever browser-based, touchscreen displays for a manned spacecraft as part of the Commercial Crew program. Jeff also oversaw the development of SpaceX's Starship and Starlink programs.
