Certificated Evaluation: SPLG Pilot Program

The Pomona Unified School District’s System of Professional Learning & Growth (SPLG) seeks to change the current structure of teacher evaluation in order to create a safe, systematic process that supports teachers in the continuous cycle of professional learning and growth.

Program requirements, due dates, linked forms and downloads are listed below.

Professional Growth Goal (PGG)
Permanent teachers are eligible to use the PGG Google Form in lieu of Process Objectives.  The Professional Growth Goal Form due date has been extended to November 15th.

Growth Cycle
Permanent teachers who have been identified by their administrator/prime evaluator as being due for a formal evaluation this school year, and wish to use the pilot process, will complete the growth cycle.  A Mentor will be assigned to support teachers through the process as they work toward meeting standards related to their Professional Growth Goal and the Focus Elements from the California Standards for the Teaching Profession.  Teachers may select a mentor preference by completing the Mentor Options Form  by December 15th.

Once a mentor has been assigned, both the teacher and mentor will engage in a conversation around a scheduled observation using the Teacher Planning Conversation Form.  After the scheduled observation, both the teacher and mentor will engage in a conversation using the Teacher Reflecting Conversation Form.  This process shall take place sometime January through March.

Final Evaluation Form
After the growth cycle of planning, observing, & reflecting is complete the teacher and administrator/prime evaluator shall complete the Final Evaluation Form (Professional Growth Goal and Focus Element Summary) located below under Resources.  The final evaluation form shall designate performance levels in all Focus Element areas based on the rubrics found below under Resources.  This form must be completed and signed no later than thirty (30) calendar days before the last school day.
